New Master's and Doctoral Graduates
We at the Florida Research Institute congratulate you on achieving
a graduate degree! It takes hard work, imagination and dedication
to earn a Master's or Doctorate, and we share your pride in your
accomplishment.
If you do not already have an invitation to join a college or university
faculty in a full-time position or if you're unsure about whether
or not to pursue an academic career, you may want to consider continuing
your research activities as a Fellow of the Florida Research Institute.
FRI Fellows comprise a virtual network of research professionals
who conduct social and behavioral research in the areas of education,
health, environment and the economy. Because Fellows are not employees
of FRI, they have much more freedom and flexibility to explore
other work arrangements while conducting research at the same time.
How does it work? All we need is a completed application form from
you outlining the research experience you gathered while earning
your degree and an idea for a research proposal that follows on
to your thesis/dissertation research or that explores an interesting
side branch. FRI will evaluate your application to see if and how
we can help you continue the work. If we believe that you and we
will benefit from working together, we will help you to formalize
your proposal to a funding agency, provide you with seed funding,
if necessary, to help defray costs of proposal development, and
provide you with contract management and oversight, funds management,
and office space when the grant is awarded.
Please download an application form or contact
us today to see
if becoming an FRI Fellow is the right choice for you!
